I’ve been posting updates on Coachella for the last few months and now it is finally here! For those of you rich kids who are going for the first time, here are some tips:

• Take a small backpack with sunscreen, a sweatshirt (sometimes it gets cool at night), a hat, chapstick, and any other things you think you might need. Note: They do not allow you to bring your own water/fluids.
• WARNING: They do search you upon entry into the festival. They are not too hard core, but they will search your backpacks, purses, and do a basic pat down. If you are bringing in any mind altering substances (which I am sure none of you will be), it is probably best that you store it in your underwear or bra.
• I would suggest leaving a little before the headlining band finishes. This can make the difference between spending 30 minutes exiting vs. upwards of 90 minutes.
• Have a meeting spot for your group. It’s pretty easy to to get separated and cell phones don’t work very well.
• If you want to meet up with friends who will also be attending, plan ahead. Like I said above, phones don’t get much signal inside the festival and it’s nearly impossible to find anyone once it gets dark.
• Stay hydrated - it’s upwards of 100 degrees during the day with not many shady spots.

Rumor has it that there may be a surprise band Sunday night. I’ve heard whispers that it could be Depeche Mode, which would be a dream come true for me (I’m seeing them in August for the first time, but I am too impatient to wait that long).
