This is like deja-blog week! All these great units that I loved in 2009 have popped up again, but priced even better than before! I had already written the entire blog post before I realized I had blogged about this same unit in October 2009. Have I really seen every condo on the market that I am coming back to properties that are being relisted? Maybe, but at the prices I was seeing this week, it bears repeating! In my defense, they redid the flooring and removed the staging which is why I didn’t recognize this one when I saw it again. Anyways, since I have already used my creative genius to write a whole new post on this unit, I am going to leave it as it stands…
I have a love/hate relationship with 999 Doheny. Located on Sunset and Doheny just on the border of 90210, you don’t get much better location wise. The building itself is stately, offers generous balconies, and is what I might have referred to in a prior post as Sierra Towers Junior – all of which I love. My issue is that every time I try to preview property in this building, the open house I want to see is usually cancelled with no notice or the unit that is open looks like your Aunt Esther passed away in it and was left undiscovered for days. More times than not, I will just avoid the property all together…that is until this unit popped up.
It’s a pretty rare offering to find a condo that is beautifully done, clean, and chic with explosive views in a full service building at this price in this area. At first I thought it was a short sale, but was pleasantly surprised to find out that the agent was just pricing properly at market value – shocker!!!
The first thing you notice when you walk in is the expansive living area with gleaming hardwood floors (brand new blanks) leading straight out to a massive balcony with dead on views of the Sunset Strip. The patio itself is 36 ft long and is no joke. From the living room and master bedroom, not only can you see the Strip, but there are also views of Century City and a panoramic view of the Beverly Hills flats.
Although a major selling point, it’s not all about the views. The floor plan is open and voluminous including a very generous master bedroom with a custom closet that you could get lost in. I have a listing at The Rob Clark that had one of the biggest closets I have ever seen for a condo in this price range and this closet puts that one to shame.
Last but not least, there is a totally done chef’s kitchen with Viking range, Sub Zero fridge, and quartz counters. It’s on the smaller side, but with those appliances – who cares?
The moment I saw this unit I was frantically texting every buyer I could think of – it’s that amazing. Oh, by the way, did I mention the views?
